ARTIST INTERVIEW Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of?
My Final Descent EP that I released with "LET TECHNO UNITE" Records - I reached out to the Label owner, DJ Perroz, and I pitched him the idea for the EP. He loved it, and we immediately began working on the concept - I wrote three (3) tracks that we released, and we were able to reach the TOP 100 Beatport Techno Peaktime Releases, and we even ended up in the #1 spot for three (3) days straight. Then a month later Markus Schulz featured one (1) of the tracks, "The Shadows Beyond" at his set at Silo in Brooklyn, NY. Since I am a native New Yorker, and a huge Markus Schulz fan, I was extremely honored and humbled by the experience.
What's the biggest misconception about Producing?
That it is just "the same loop over and over" and that it is easy to produce. Although with practice, things do get a bit more straight forward, and workflows can improve, I would definitely not say it is easy to produce, and as we know, it isn't just the same loop over and over, there is so much subtlety and nuance in electronic music, you really have to listen to it closely, but you definitely feel it.
How would you describe your style?
My style is usually very energetic, progressive and I try to create unique sounds, layering and melodies that are both catchy but also intricate and complex.
What type of music do you usually Produce?
Progressive Trance, Tech-Trance, Uplifting Trance, Peaktime Techno, Melodic Techno and Progressive/Bigroom House.
Analog or digital and why?
Digital because it has been more easily accessible for me, but I am open to analog as well
What do you like most about Electronic music?
I love all the possibilities there are for arrangements, sounds, styles and how creative artists have been with all the tools that are available these days.
How long have you been making music?
I started back in 2010, and then took a break after 2014. I started back up again 2024 so for the last year and a half I have really honed and refined my skills.
What's your typical work process?
I like to start with a simple kick, bass and percussion and then I build from there - I usually like to start from the middle and work out both towards the outro and the intro, but I make sure the break, build up and drop are done first.
Tell us about your studio setup?
It is a simple small studio with a laptop, synthesizer (midi keyboard), and monitor speakers, and headphones to test my mastering.
Can you share one production tip?
Be patient, do not rush through the process (something I need to remind myself at times) and also make sure to save your favorite templates for each style, so that your workflow can improve, and this way you can focus on creating, rather than having to set up each template from scratch with each track (unless you like that process as well).
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
Everyone that I keep close with the labels I am apart of, and also the DJs who are friendly with those labels, we each push each other to be creative and make sure we make the best possible track each time.
What are some upcoming events or projects you are excited about?
I have a few collaborations with amazing artists that I am excited about, and also have been working with more vocalists, and that process has been amazing as well. I am excited for those releases.
Where can we find out more about your music?
You can find my music on the Instagram page, where I also promote my Spotify, Beatport, SoundCloud and other avenues where myself or the labels upload my music for streaming and easy listening.
